Great moments, or the sum of all the little things? In business we like to make plans. Strategic plans are the most fun. They show the big things that we must do to reach our goals. And we like to think that we are capable of thinking and doing big things. That might be the biggest benefit we get from strategic plans--they make us feel good.
In practice, where we find ourselves, at any moment, is the result of every decision and action up until then. And not only the big consequential decisions and actions. Everything.
Strategic plans are best used for goal setting. Once you have your goals, the rest is up to your intention. Are you focused on your goals or have you taken your feet of the pedals, coasting while waiting for the big moments?
